Halloween weekend rewarded the stars who did their homework. Most of these looks come straight from the celebrities’ own posts. (Zendaya’s Halle Berry tribute got its own story.)
Jennifer Lopez as Barbarella
Lopez went with Jane Fonda’s 1968 space heroine and wrote that she “dressed up as my Monster-in-Law for Halloween,” a wink at the 2005 comedy the two made together. InStyle has the full breakdown of the looks.

Sabrina Carpenter as Penny Pingleton
Carpenter went back to 2007’s Hairspray and dressed as Penny Pingleton, Tracy Turnblad’s lollipop-loving best friend. The early-’60s styling sits so close to her usual stage looks that it barely reads as a costume, which is sort of the point. NME and Vulture both included the look in their Halloween rundowns, and Vulture is already petitioning for her to play Penny in a new Hairspray Live.

Olandria Carthen as Vixen (and Naomi Campbell)
The Love Island USA star did Halloween twice. On Oct. 29 she recreated Peter Lindbergh’s 1990 “Seeing Spots” shoot of Naomi Campbell for American Vogue, Dalmatians and all, captioned “Inspired by an icon, Campbell x Carthen” (HelloBeautiful). On Halloween night she switched to DC’s Vixen, the supermodel hero who borrows the powers of animals, in a shoot by photographer Jacob (@cameramanjake). SI Swimsuit, which made her a 2026 rookie, counted both looks among its models’ best.
