Bill Belichick and Jordon Hudson Reportedly Split in Late 2025, but Neither Has Confirmed It

TMZ and PEOPLE say Bill Belichick and Jordon Hudson quietly split in late 2025 and stayed business partners. Neither has confirmed it, and UNC insiders say they saw no sign of a breakup.

The Lowdown

For most of 2026, Bill Belichick and Jordon Hudson looked like the same pair that dominated college football chatter last year: together on the sideline, at the Kentucky Derby and at the postgame podium. Now two outlets say the romance ended months ago. The catch is that neither of them has said a word, and people inside the UNC program say they never saw signs of a split. Until Belichick or Hudson speaks, treat this as a reported breakup, not a confirmed one.

Key Takeaways

  • TMZ Sports, citing sources close to Hudson, reported on October 30 that the couple ended their romance “late last year.” PEOPLE published its own report the same day.
  • Both outlets say the two are still friends and business partners. PEOPLE later added that Hudson is seeing other people.
  • Neither Belichick nor Hudson has commented. Requests from TMZ, Page Six and WRAL went unanswered.
  • Two people in UNC’s football office told USA Today they weren’t aware of a breakup, and WRAL’s sources around the program said much the same.
  • Hudson has kept turning up at UNC games and events this fall, including the October 24 home game against Syracuse.

The Full Story

Bill Belichick and Jordon Hudson are no longer a couple, according to reports published Friday, October 30. TMZ Sports went first, citing sources close to Hudson with direct knowledge of the relationship, who said the North Carolina head coach, 74, and Hudson, 25, quietly ended things “late last year.” PEOPLE followed with a matching report hours later.

Nothing in the reporting points to a messy ending. TMZ’s sources said the two remain “committed to their business partnerships and remain close friends,” and the outlet said it didn’t know what caused the split or who made the call. Late Friday night, PEOPLE reported that Hudson has started dating other people. Their working ties are real: Hudson manages a set of Belichick-related trademarks, WRAL noted, and Boston.com reported she has handled his image rights and licensing.

A breakup nobody around UNC saw

If the two did part ways in late 2025, they kept it remarkably quiet. Hudson stayed a regular presence around Belichick this year. Page Six placed the pair at the Kentucky Derby in May, and Hudson was on the sideline for UNC’s September 12 home opener against East Tennessee State. According to WRAL, she sat beside Belichick at a high school game in Maryland in late September, came to his press conference after the October 3 loss to Notre Dame and joined the celebration when the Tar Heels beat Duke on October 17. A week before the reports, she was back on the sideline for the October 24 home game against Syracuse, a 31-30 loss, per the New York Post.

So the news landed with a thud in Chapel Hill. Two people in the UNC football office, one of them a high-ranking staff member, told USA Today Sports they weren’t aware of any breakup; both spoke anonymously because of the sensitivity of the subject. WRAL heard much the same from sources in and around the program, including people who work with Hudson, who said they’d seen little to suggest the couple had separated.

What each side has said

So far, nothing on the record. TMZ said it contacted both Belichick and Hudson and got no reply. Page Six said the same, and WRAL reported that a UNC football spokesman and Hudson didn’t immediately respond. As of Sunday, November 1, neither has publicly confirmed or denied the reports.

Belichick’s earlier comments about Hudson have mostly been about drawing lines. After Hudson cut in during his April 2025 CBS Sunday Morning interview as he was asked how they met, he issued a statement through CBS News calling her someone “with whom I share both a personal and professional relationship” and said the aired segment strung together selectively edited clips to suggest “a false narrative.” Later that year he summed it up more bluntly: “It’s a personal relationship, and she doesn’t have anything to do with UNC football.” In a Wall Street Journal interview this September, he called the idea that Hudson was steering his coaching career “ridiculous,” Page Six noted.

How they got here

  • February 2021: Belichick and Hudson meet on a flight to Palm Beach, an account Belichick himself has shared.
  • 2022: The two start dating, according to TMZ.
  • June 2024: The relationship becomes public, months after Belichick’s 24-season run as head coach of the New England Patriots ends in January.
  • December 11, 2024: North Carolina hires Belichick as its head football coach.
  • April 2025: Hudson interjects during his CBS Sunday Morning interview, and Belichick defends her in a statement.
  • August 2025: TCE Rights Management, the couple’s company, files trademark applications for Belichick-linked phrases such as “Chapel Bill.”
  • Late 2025: The romance ends, according to TMZ and PEOPLE. UNC finishes Belichick’s first season 4-8.
  • May–October 2026: Hudson keeps appearing with Belichick, from the Kentucky Derby to the Syracuse game.
  • October 30, 2026: TMZ and PEOPLE report the split, and UNC staffers tell USA Today they hadn’t heard about it.

It’s been a bumpy second season in Chapel Hill regardless. UNC entered Halloween weekend at 4-3, and general manager Michael Lombardi and defensive coordinator Steve Belichick, Bill’s son, both resigned this fall amid an internal investigation into the program, WRAL reported.

This story is based on reporting by TMZ and PEOPLE, with additional reporting from USA Today, WRAL, Page Six, the New York Post and Boston.com. Pop Culture Pit has not independently confirmed the split.
