The useless fact
What was the first video ever uploaded to YouTube?
Answer: "Me at the zoo," 19 seconds of co-founder Jawed Karim in front of the elephants at the San Diego Zoo.
Why It’s True
Karim posted the clip on April 23, 2005, from his account "jawed," where it's still up. He stands at the elephant enclosure and remarks on their "really, really, really long trunks." EDN's history column dates the upload to April 23, 2005, and says Yakov Lapitsky shot it.
