Overview
Daniel Hastings is a sales account executive who joined the Minneapolis cast of Netflix’s Love Is Blind for Season 8. His story followed a relationship with Taylor Haag, from conversations separated by the pods’ walls to an engagement and a wedding. The season introduced him as someone who wanted marriage and children, with his parents’ relationship serving as a model for the family life he hoped to build.
Before the television experiment, Hastings had an unusual early modeling credit: Netflix’s cast introduction described him as a former Gerber baby model. His adult work was in sales. In the same introduction, he spoke about learning to ask for support and becoming more comfortable expressing emotion, qualities that helped define how he approached dating on the show.
Netflix’s account of his first date with Taylor described a joking proposal that anticipated the real engagement to come. Shared enthusiasm for Christmas helped give their conversations a sense of the home life they both wanted. In a later interview, Hastings said becoming a parent was among his hopes for their future, while the couple also discussed adding a dog to their household.
His connection with Taylor had an early test when she questioned whether he had seen her Instagram account before they met. In Netflix’s post-season interview, both described working through that concern and continuing to build their relationship. The pair married during the season; MPR News later reported that they celebrated with a larger vow renewal in Chaska in May 2025. That second celebration brought together family, friends and fellow cast members, extending their story beyond the filmed wedding.
