Overview
Gerald David “Lorenzo” Music (May 2, 1937 – August 4, 2001) was an American actor, voice actor, writer and producer. He became the defining voice of Garfield in television specials and Garfield and Friends. He also voiced animated Peter Venkman on The Real Ghostbusters and was Carlton the Doorman on Rhoda. Music died on August 4, 2001; Bill Murray later voiced Garfield in theatrical films after Music’s death — a reciprocal coincidence with Music’s Venkman credit. His career also included writing and producing work in television comedy.
