Monica Davis is a sales executive who appeared on the Washington, DC season of Netflix’s Love Is Blind. She became engaged to electrician Stephen Richardson after conversations in the pods about trust, past experiences and emotional openness. Their relationship ended before a wedding. In subsequent interviews, Davis discussed how the experiment had sharpened her expectations for a partner and helped her approach a later relationship with clearer boundaries.
Netflix’s cast introduction described a person whose outgoing social life did not capture her whole personality. Davis enjoyed music festivals and dancing, but also identified herself as sensitive and eager for emotional security. Family was another important part of her account: she was the oldest of five sisters and proud of being someone the younger four could look up to. She wanted to build a family of her own without accepting a relationship that left her feeling unsafe.
Her connection with Richardson developed through conversations that went beyond surface attraction. The official account described them discussing previous relationships, regrets and the possibility of learning from those experiences. Their engagement carried that openness into the next stage of the experiment, although living together exposed difficulties that the pod dates had not resolved. They did not continue to the altar.
In Netflix’s October 2024 post-reunion interview, Davis said she had reconnected with someone she had first met on a dating app before filming. She described being more direct about what she needed, which in turn made room for more honest conversation. She also said she and Richardson could remain cordial without becoming close friends. Her reflections centered on the difference between wishing an ex-partner well and removing the boundaries she needed for herself. That distinction was a significant part of how she described moving forward after the show.
