Patrick Suzuki
Construction manager, poker player and Love Is Blind Season 9 participant.
Overview
Patrick Suzuki is a construction manager and poker player who appeared on Netflix’s Love Is Blind Season 9 in Denver. He became engaged to hair and makeup artist Kacie McIntosh after another connection, with hairstylist Anna Yuan, ended in the pods. McIntosh left the experiment before the couples’ vacation, and the engagement did not develop into a marriage. Suzuki later reflected on emotional compatibility and confidence in interviews after the season.
His official cast introduction described him as a first-generation college graduate whose family had moved from Cambodia to the United States in the 1970s. He regarded that educational achievement as a major source of pride. The profile also noted his 2019 Colorado Poker Championship win. In relationships, he hoped for easy conversation, spontaneity and someone who could share a relaxed approach without needing to dominate every exchange.
The pods brought questions of identity into that search. Suzuki discussed the difficulty of dating as an Asian man in a predominantly white city, and his conversations with McIntosh included how that experience might fit into their future. Their initial chemistry became an engagement, but the transition out of the pods exposed different needs and expectations. When she decided not to continue to the vacation, the couple had to address whether a relationship could develop back home.
In Netflix’s October 2025 post-reunion interview, Suzuki said he and Yuan were on friendly terms, although their earlier romantic momentum had not returned. He also discussed taking more time to assess compatibility when meeting new people, rather than relying on appearance or dating apps alone. Confidence in his identity was another lesson he drew from the experience. His account placed the short engagement within a broader effort to communicate clearly and find a partnership that worked beyond the unusual conditions of the show.
