Overview
Annie Lancaster is a hair salon owner who appeared on the Denver-based ninth season of Netflix’s Love Is Blind. She became engaged to luxury watch dealer Nick Amato after a pod courtship marked by laughter and conversations about marriage. Their engagement ended before a wedding, but the relationship continued briefly outside the production. Lancaster later discussed the difference between that experience and the steadier partnership she described after filming.
Her professional life was an important part of her introduction. Netflix presented Lancaster as a business owner who wanted a partner supportive of her ambitions, rather than someone who expected her to put the salon aside. She had moved to Denver on her own after growing up in a small town with just 25 students in her graduating class. Camping and fly fishing with her family were among the outdoor activities she remembered from childhood.
Family also shaped what she hoped to find in the pods. Lancaster looked to her parents’ marriage as an example and admired her father’s reliability. Her connection with Amato combined playful banter with more serious conversations about raising children and their religious outlook. Netflix’s account described him considering whether he might leave his more secluded mountain life to build a future with her in the city.
In Netflix’s October 2025 post-reunion interview, Lancaster said she and Amato had tried dating for about three weeks after leaving their shared apartment. The attempt did not last, although both later described being on good terms. She also discussed a new relationship that felt more reassuring and less uncertain to her. Reflecting on watching the season, Lancaster recognized a tendency to repeat herself when she did not feel heard. Those observations added a communication-focused perspective to the salon owner’s on-screen search for a husband.
