The Story
FX has renewed American Horror Story, created by Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk, for a 14th season. The Hollywood Reporter said the pickup will likely push the series past 150 episodes and extends its run as FX’s longest-running hourlong series (The Hollywood Reporter).
The current season brought back franchise regulars including Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates, Emma Roberts, Billie Lourd and Jessica Lange. It posted the biggest launch ever for one of Murphy’s shows on Hulu and Disney+ and made Nielsen’s streaming top 10 in each of its first two weeks (The Hollywood Reporter).
Murphy has said he wants to keep making the show for a long time and is thinking about an international version. “I really want this show to go international,” he told The Hollywood Reporter (The Hollywood Reporter).
As usual, FX has not shared plot or casting for the new season (TV Guide).
