The Lowdown
Paul Walter Hauser is done with Major League Wrestling. The actor, who spent more than two years wrestling for MLW and later worked behind the scenes as an executive producer, said on Instagram that he left the promotion late last week and that the reason was “simply rooted in creative differences” (Instagram; Fightful; POST Wrestling).
Key Takeaways
- Hauser announced the exit on Sunday, Nov. 1, saying he “said goodbye to the MLW family late last week” (Fightful; POST Wrestling).
- He called creative differences “the truest, & least sexy, answer” and said he wanted to get ahead of speculation (Fightful; Wrestling Observer).
- He thanked MLW founder Court Bauer, the crew and a long list of wrestlers, including Tom Lawlor, Suzuki and Trevor Lee (Fightful; Wrestling Observer).
- His last MLW match was a win over Cody Fluffman at the Sept. 12 television tapings (POST Wrestling).

The Story
The post read more like a thank-you note than a breakup. Hauser credited Sami Callihan with introducing him to Bauer, who gave him his shot at Battle Riot VI, and said he learned a lot in MLW about his in-ring work, about producing and directing backstage segments, and about the unwritten rules of the business (Fightful; POST Wrestling).
He was also candid about the work itself. “To be perfectly honest, I don’t think any of my best matches were in MLW, but I did the best I could with what I had at the time,” he wrote (Fightful).
Hauser listed what he tried to bring beyond the ring, from getting MLW written up in the Wall Street Journal and onto Jimmy Kimmel Live to buying snacks for craft service and pitching the product to anyone in Hollywood who would listen (Fightful; POST Wrestling).
A parting shot
He closed by plugging the places fans can watch MLW, including Tubi, Prime Video, Veeps and YouTube, and then added a warning. “If anyone cares to bad mouth me & or rewrite my contributions to MLW, I have receipts & I have friends in high places,” he wrote, with a grinning emoji (Fightful; Wrestling Observer).
The Background
Hauser started wrestling with Wrestling Revolver in 2023 and has also worked for PROGRESS, DEFY and ROH (POST Wrestling). He debuted for MLW in the 40-person Battle Riot in June 2024, where he eliminated Tom Lawlor and kicked off a rivalry that ended with Hauser beating the former MLW World Champion in an MMA-style cage. He later turned on his tag partner and mentor Paul London (POST Wrestling; Wrestling Observer).
MLW named him an executive producer in March 2025, and the promotion still listed him in that role when it announced its Tubi distribution deal in September (POST Wrestling).
