Andrei Castravet

Overview

Andrei Castravet entered the 90 Day Fiancé franchise in season five of the original series. TLC introduced him in 2017 as a Moldovan man preparing to join Elizabeth Potthast in the United States after a relationship that began through an app. Elizabeth had been planning a European vacation when they connected, and their meeting in person led to plans for a shared life in America.

Reality TV World’s account of the couple’s history places Andrei in Dublin when Elizabeth visited and identifies late 2017 as the period of their marriage. His first season was not simply about moving countries. TLC’s launch biography also highlighted the doubts of Elizabeth’s father and brothers and the couple’s different expectations about their roles in a relationship. Before moving to the United States, Andrei had worked as a bouncer in Dublin, where Elizabeth visited him after their online introduction.

Andrei and Elizabeth continued on Happily Ever After? after their original season. The outlet’s March 2022 retrospective identifies their appearances in seasons four, five and six and describes a second wedding celebration in Moldova that allowed his family to participate. A later storyline brought him into Elizabeth’s family’s real-estate business, shifting the conflict toward work, money and the boundaries between professional and family relationships.

The pair also appeared on Pillow Talk, where they reacted to other participants’ episodes rather than serving as the subject of the scenes being discussed. TLC’s announcement for Happily Ever After? season nine again included Andrei and Elizabeth among its returning couples. Taken together, these credits chart the movement from an international engagement to an ongoing marriage-and-family storyline and commentary work. The return to Moldova also reversed the direction of travel from his first season, bringing Elizabeth and the American side of the family into his home country.
