Overview
Joey Leveille joined the Minneapolis cast of Love Is Blind Season 8 as a physician associate hoping to find a marriage of his own. He formed an engagement with Monica Danús during the experiment. Netflix’s account of their pod dates described a connection built around family, shared entertainment tastes and the possibility of making room for each other in their everyday lives. They were the season’s first couple to become engaged.
Before joining the show, Leveille had plenty of experience attending other people’s weddings. Netflix’s cast guide said he had served in 11 weddings over the preceding year. His introduction contrasted that busy social life with a wish to become the groom. He emphasized empathy and family ties in describing the partner he hoped to meet, and said he was open to compromise when both people understood each other’s boundaries.
His engagement with Monica did not become a marriage. After the reunion, Leveille told Netflix that the experience had prompted reflection about how he approached relationships. He also described changes outside his dating life, including finishing work on his condominium and traveling. The friendships he formed within the cast were another important part of his account: he spoke about the group offering one another support after filming.
In an August 2025 update, MPR News reported that Leveille and Sara Carton had publicly announced they were dating the previous month. Carton had been engaged to Ben Mezzenga during the season, so their later relationship was separate from either original pod engagement. Leveille’s franchise story therefore includes the wedding experiment with Monica as well as a later connection that developed among the wider Minneapolis cast.
