Overview

Jovi Dufren made his 90 Day Fiancé debut in season eight in 2020, alongside Ukrainian partner Yara Zaya. Travel was part of the story before the cameras arrived: his work took him to different countries, and he used a travel app to find people to meet along the way. He connected with Yara online, and their first in-person meeting took place in Budapest, Hungary.

The original series followed Yara’s move from Kyiv to New Orleans and the pair’s preparations for marriage. Jovi’s work required periods away from home, leaving her to adjust to an unfamiliar city without him. They also disagreed about his nightlife and what settling down should mean. Their wedding took place in Las Vegas with an Elvis impersonator officiating, and they subsequently welcomed their daughter.

Happily Ever After? season six shifted attention to parenthood. While Jovi wanted time together as a couple, Yara was focused on caring for their newborn, and his work absences complicated the balance. Season seven expanded the story to Europe, where Yara hoped to reconnect with loved ones after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Their discussions included whether she would stay in Europe while he returned to work.

The couple also appeared on 90 Day Diaries season three, documenting their evacuation from Louisiana during Hurricane Ida. They later became part of the first cast of 90 Day: The Last Resort, the retreat-based series that premiered in 2023. Their sessions examined trust, communication and differing plans for another child, ending with a recommitment. In Happily Ever After? season nine, their storyline moved to Miami and included friendships with other established 90 Day couples. The progression took Jovi from an international courtship to a recurring role across several of TLC’s relationship formats.
